We Earthlings: Substitute Chicken for Beef *

Did you know you can significantly reduce your meal’s carbon footprint with one easy swap? If you’re making a meat dish, just substitute chicken for beef.

A 2019 study at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine found that simple substitutions of ingredients in a dish can significantly reduce the greenhouse gas footprint of a meal. In particular, substituting chicken for beef in a dish can reduce the greenhouse gas impact of your meal by an average of 54 percent.
